Mona (Wagner) Alloway

Mona Alloway, 82, of Wapello, passed away on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Wapello Specialty Care.  A Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Wapello United Methodist Church.    Private family burial will be in Fredonia Cemetery at a later date.     Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello are caring for the family.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Mona Wagner was born on March 10, 1939 in Conesville, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Viola (Stratton) Wagner.  On November 26, 1956, Mona was united in marriage to Merlin Alloway.  They later divorced.  Mona had worked in Wilton at the nursing home, was a waitress at a truck stop and was a daycare provider to many children through the years.  She enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and spending time with her grandchildren. 

Mona will be deeply missed by her children, Cindy (Dean) Lund of Missouri, Linda (Tom) Whitlow of Muscatine, Michael Alloway of Wapello, Robert Alloway of Muscatine and Rhonda Broskin of New York; grandchildren, Jessie Garmon, Kara Halling, Robyn Rivera, Amanda Lund, Eric Lund and Amber Nielsen; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Kerry Ziehl of Washington, Randy Wagner of Muscatine and Margaret Mesecher of Wapello and several nieces and nephews. 

Mona was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters.
