Michael W Umlandt

Michael W. Umlandt, 70, of Muscatine, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Premier Estates.  A Celebration of Life will be held at First Baptist Church in Muscatine on June 17, 2023 at 1:00pm. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine, formerly The Geo. Michael Wayne Umlandt was born on June 21, 1952, in Muscatine, the son of Peter and Evelyn Umlandt.  Mike was a 1970 graduate of Muscatine High School.  On August 16, 1974 Mike was united in marriage to Carol Sue Buttgen in Muscatine. Mike was a member of the First Baptist Church.  

Mike enjoyed men's group at church, watching Pittsburgh sports teams, and Iowa Hawkeye basketball. His faith carried him throughout his life. As an accomplished editor, he combined his faith with his career working for Campus Crusade for Christ, Moody Monthly and eventually the Luis Palau Organization.

Mike will be deeply missed by his sons, Christopher (Kellie) Umlandt, Jared Umlandt and Jonathan (Valerie Hesla) Umlandt, all of Oregon; daughter, April (Charity) Chandler of Wisconsin; grandchildren, Ian, Nolan, Lincoln and Teagan Umlandt, Jade Hesla and Bo Umlandt; brothers, William (Kathy), Doug (Colleen) and Gary (Dana) of Muscatine and sister Laurie (Don) Robertson of Kansas City.

Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Sue, his parents and granddaughter Kiera.
