Michael John Phillips, of Muscatine, went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 41. Michael was born on January 13, 1984, to Sandy Phillips and Steve Harmon. He married Phillis Peterson in September of 2004. Michael planned their renewal of their marriage in 2014 by himself. He was so proud of this.
Michael loved to go hunting with his family, including his wife, Phiillis, his kids and mother and father, Sandy and Brian. He loved to vacation all over the world with his wife, Kids and nephews. Michael loved family time. Michael had a caring heart and helped a lot of people out through the years. Michael volunteered as the head of security for Pearl City Outreach and went to the Jesus Mission Church. He worked for Rescom out of Indiana and GPC till his health would not let him work any longer.
Michael would correct anyone that say his “Step” kids. In Michael’s eyes and heart. They are all his kids and nothing changed that. Michael love to have family times, cookouts at his mom’s for everything, including Christmas, anniversaries, Easter, 4th of July and many more.
Michael will be missed by a lot of people, but most of all, he will be missed by his family, Wife, Phillis Phillips, son, Zackory Phillips, daughters, Tiffany (Wyatt) Sylvester, Brittany (Joseph) Peterson-Sloat, Kayla (Christopher) Lawrence, all of Muscatine and Destiny Macintyre of California; parents, Sandy and Brian Hutt, dad, Steve Harmon, mom, Sherry Cross, mom, Maggie Thorndyke; brothers, Sam (Trish) Harmon, Troy ((Brenda) Cross, Matthew (Misty) Harmon, Chris Powers, Landon Phillips, Trevin Hutt all of Muscatine, and Josh Hutt of Colorado; sisters, Tonya Harmon and Amy Harmon of Muscatine; six grandchildren, Joslyn, Alan, Alinia, Connor, River and Oakley with one on the way and aunts and uncles.
Michael is dancing in Heaven, now with no pain with his family that went before him, Grandma Dee Phillips, Grandpa Phillips, Grandpa Harold Cross, Grandpa Hawkeye and Grandma Janet Harmon, uncles, Mark and Tim Phillips, cousin Nate Phillips, father-in-law, Clinton Peterson, mother-in-law, Julia Harris, best friend Robert Peppel, brother-in-law, Mark Thorndyke, uncle JR Cross and more. This is not a good bye but till we see you again. Love always, your wife.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Jesus Mission Church. A Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Following the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church.
