Michael Joseph Galvan

Michael J. Galvan, 68, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021 at his home.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Des Moines.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Michael’s name. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Michael Joseph Galvan was born on October 2, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Inez Paul Galvan and Irene Galvan Chia.  Michael was a graduate of East High School in Des Moines and had gone on to take some autobody training as well.  He had worked for Union Park Heath Center for 20-years.  Michael enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, had a passion for softball ever since his younger years and most of all, enjoyed spending time with his family.

Michael will be deeply missed by his sister, Andrea Torres of Des Moines and her children, Amanda Muñoz, Maria Torres and Felipe Torres; longtime companion, Jerry Couch of Muscatine; son,  Jared (Daniella Hill) Galvan; Jerry’s children, Michelle (Jesus Medina) Fisher, Michael (Stephanie) Fisher, Savana Mabrier and Jaquelyn Lopez; several grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents; sister, Rachel and brother, Phillip.
