Michael Robert Burns

Michael Burns, 58, of Wapello, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home in Wapello.  A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date..  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello is caring for Michael’s family and arrangements.

Michael Robert Burns was born May 15, 1967 in Moline, IL, the son of Robert and Kathleen Burns.  He graduated from Moline High School.  Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army.  In 2003 he was united in marriage to Sharon Gerst.  Michael worked as a machinist and heavy equipment operator.  He was a volunteer fireman and first responder in Oakville for many years.  Michael was an avid Transformers collector.  He loved sitting around his bonfire and spending time with his family friends..

Michael will be deeply missed by his daughter, Rachael (Bailey Longcor) Burns; granddaughter, Aurora Rice and sister, Linda Criswell.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and brother, Mark Burns.
