Melvin Huston Obituary

Melvin D. Huston, 76, of Winfield, passed away at his home, Sunday, July 11th, 2021.
Melvin was born October 16th, 1944 to Helen and Harold Huston. He graduated from Winfield Mt.
Union High School in 1962. He married Sheryl Wilke (Crane) in 1963 and had 2 sons, Tony Melvin
and Tim Wayne. They divorced. He later married Kathy Gorsuch in 1988.
He worked for many years for The City of Winfield, Winfield Agri-Builders, Coberly Construction,
CECO, and retired from Hearth & Home. He enjoyed restoring vintage tractors, annual fish frys,
spending time with his wife Kathy and their dogs, and working around his home.
Melvin is survived by his wife, Kathy Huston of Winfield, Sons: Tony and Tim (Jennifer) Huston of
Winfield. Stepdaughter: Roxanne Hintermiester(Steve) of Muscatine. Stepson: Robert Meyer of
Mount Pleasant. Brothers: Mahlon Huston of Rocky Comfort, MO and Kirk Huston(Michelle) of
Pella. 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, several cousins and nieces and nephews, and his
beloved dogs Chipper and Simon.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Huston.
The family held a small private viewing Monday, July 12th.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at 2 pm at Tim and Jennifer
Huston's home, 304 East Pine Street, Winfield. All family and friends are welcome.
