Mattie Starr, 66, of Muscatine, died on Friday, February, 7 2025 at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island.  Private services will be held at a later date.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Mattie. Mattie Lee Starr was born on January 26, 1959, in Muscatine, the daughter of Edgar and Charlotte (Martin) Starr. She worked at various restaurants and IBP.  In her younger years she enjoyed playing bingo and later watching her shows on television.  Most of all she loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mattie will be deeply missed by her children; Cindy (Gilberto) Covarrubias of Muscatine; Kenneth Strong of Mt. Pleasant and Robert Strong of Decatur, IL; 15 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Rose (Randy) Olson; Edward Starr, Connie Starr and Cindy Starr.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Dorothy Mathis-Leaver; son, G.E. Starr and nephew, Damian Strause.
