Mary "MJ" (McGourty) Reinier

Mary “MJ” Reinier, 66, of Muscatine passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at Trinity Muscatine.  Private family graveside services will be held in Greenwood Cemetery.  A Celebration of Life for MJ will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at the Church of the Living Water.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for MJ’s arrangements. 

Mary Joe Reinier was born on November 2, 1959 in Muscatine, the daughter of Jospeh Daniel and Mary Ellen (Phillips) McGourty.  MJ was a high school graduate and went on to attend college.  She worked for Elliot Aviation as a rotable specialist.  She was a member of the Island Methodist Church and enjoyed reading and bingo. 

MJ will be deeply missed by her children, Stefanie Reinier of Muscatine, Iowa and Brad Reinier of Muscatine; grandchildren, Emmaline, Conner, Casey, Samantha, Savanna Lee, Shaun and Olivia; great-grandchildren, Aurora and Auraya; siblings, Jerry Beeding, Joe McGourty, Tom McGourty, Michael McGourty and Terri Blinder, all of Muscatine, Becky Boulton of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Rose Kruse of California, Jean Fattu of Idaho, JoAnn Bartenhagen of Grandview and Pam Stecher of Davenport and several nieces and nephews. 

MJ was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margaret and Paula Sue McGourty; niece, Crystal Garcia and nephew, Bradly McGourty.
