Mary Ellen (Peterson) Saltzman

Mary Ellen Saltzman, 59, of Lone Tree, passed away on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.  Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree.  A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue or the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa in memory of Mary Ellen.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Mary Ellen Peterson was born on July 8, 1965, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of William Ernest and Martha (Flynn) Peterson.  She was a 1983 graduate of Columbus Community School, attended Central College and then received her Associate Degree from Scott Community College.  On May 29, 2000, Mary Ellen was united in marriage to Todd Wayne Saltzman in Conesville.  Mary Ellen worked in the billing office at the University of Iowa Hospital.  She volunteered as a fireman in Colorado and enjoyed Sudokus and traveling, but most of all, Mary Ellen loved to keep up with all of her friends.

Mary Ellen will be deeply missed by her husband, Todd Saltzman of Lone Tree; son, Nicholas Saltzman of Lone Tree; mother, Martha Peterson of Nichols and siblings, Laura (James) Jardine of Davenport and Sean F. (Amber) Peterson of Derby, Kansas.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her father.
