Mary Elaine (Jackson) Schultz

Mary E. Schultz, 91, of Sperry, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Azria Health Prairie Ridge in Mediapolis.  Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at the Sperry United Methodist Church.  Burial will be in the Old Stone Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 25, 2022 at the Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Mediapolis.  A memorial has been established for Sperry United Methodist Women or Old Stone Cemetery in Mary’s name.  Online condolences can by left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. 

Mary Elaine Jackson was born on June 14, 1930, in New London, Iowa the daughter of Horace H. and Hazel M. (Thomas) Jackson.  On April 22, 1977, Mary was united in marriage to Gary “Dutch” Schultz in Las Vegas.  She worked at Champion Spark Plug in Burlington for 23 years retiring January 31, 1992.  Mary was a member of the Sperry United Methodist Church, Sperry United Methodist Women and UAW 1237. 

Mary will be deeply missed by her children, Evelyn (Randy) Machholz of Moravia and Barb Schlag of Mediapolis; daughter-in-law, Roberta Jeffrey of Florida; grandchildren, Craig (Teri) Machholz, Eric (Cammie) Machholz, Angela (Kerry) Kline, Michael (Shelly) Jeffrey and Joseph (Mandy) Jeffrey; step-grandchildren, Ashley McGuire, Jackie McGuire, Colleen McGuire, Ronnie Schlag, Marty Schlag, Dana Schlag and Bill Schlag; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Stone of Sperry; and sister-in-law, Carol Jackson of Burlington.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dutch; son, Tom Jeffrey; son-in-law, Fred Schlag; grandson, Jason; sister, Helen; brother, Stanley Jackson; and brother-in-law, Lindy Stone.
