Mary Viola (Foster) Robertson

Mary Viola Robertson, 77, of Wapello, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Prairie Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation in Mediapolis.  Visitation will be held Friday December 3rd from 4:00-6:00 pm at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello with Funeral Service to follow immediately after at 6 pm. Please join us at Wooster’s following the service for a toast to our mother. Graveside services will be Saturday December 4, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Wapello Cemetery. Mary Viola Robertson was born January 6th, 1944 in Port Louisa, IA to Charles and Vivian (Beeding) Foster. She experienced farm life growing up with her large family in Iowa. She met and later married Harvey Robertson in October 1964. They eventually left the family farm to move to Arizona.  To this union 3 children were born, Kenny, Loretta, and Debbie Jo. Then later divorced. Later she welcomed her fourth child Christina and returned to Iowa.

She had a variety of jobs over the years including waitressing, bartending, working at Heinz and eventually retiring after a long career at Hahn.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, planting and taking care of flowers, and reading.  

Mary will be deeply missed by us all.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Vivian, brothers Kenny, Roger, and Ross Foster; grandson Ryne Lensgraf, granddaughter Amanda Short and great grandson Gage Fyffe. 

She is survived by her 4 children Kenny Robertson of Arizona, Loretta Estabrook of Michigan, Debbie Jo (Rob) Short of Wyoming and Christina Robertson of Iowa. 8 grandchildren: Nicholas, Lori, Desiree, Savanna, Wesley, Johnathan, Lauren and Hunter.  and 5 great grandchildren with one on the way.  The second eldest of 12, she is also survived by her siblings Allen (Janice) Foster of Oakville, Phyllis (Dan) Kauffman, Dorothy Morrow all of Wapello; Audrey Sirovy of Burlington; Sally (Larry) Malcom, Ethel (Steve Bishop) Foster, Edith (Marlin) Spitznogle and Ina Foster all of Wapello.
