Obituary
Mary JoAnn Clester, 79, of Muscatine, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Private family services will be held at a later date. Mary was born October 7, 1943 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Harold R. and Edith P. (Fuget) Bryant. She attended Wapello Schools. Mary was united in marriage to Gary Clester in 1964 in Muscatine, Iowa. The couple later divorced. She resided in Wapello until 1967 when she relocated to Muscatine.
Mary worked for Sylvania in Burlington, Iowa for five years, Thatcher’s in Muscatine for eleven years and Letica in Muscatine for two years. She worked over twenty-four years with Louis Rich-West Liberty Foods in West Liberty, retiring in March of 2006. Mary was of the Methodist faith. She enjoyed fishing, Saturday night Bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by her children: Lonnie, Gary, Troy, Dusty, Rusty (Stephanie) and Tracy Clester, all of Muscatine; several grandchildren; step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Richard Bryant of Wapello; and sister, Norma Robbins of Grandview.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert.
