Mary (Stump) Breedlove

Mary M. Breedlove, 94, Muscatine, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Lutheran Living following a short battle with cancer.  Services will be Monday, July 19 at 10:30 A.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine.  Entombment will be in the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery Community Garden Mausoleum.  Following the entombment, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Community Room.  Visitation will be Sunday, July 18 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to Hospice Compassus or Lutheran Living in Mary’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Mary Marjorie Stump was born on April 16, 1927 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Carl H. and Zelda S. (Verink) Stump.  On October 20, 1957, Mary was united in marriage to Walter S. Breedlove, Jr.  Mary was a legal secretary to E. Raymond Tipton of Muscatine for over 40-years.  She was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Muscatine, having been a co-leader of Ester Circle for many years.  Mary was a member of the Muscatine General Hospital Auxiliary/Unity Point Friends and was a dedicated volunteer in the Hospital Gift Shop for years. 

Mary enjoyed luncheons and playing bridge with friends, 2-3 times a week.  Shopping excursions were always enjoyable from local to bus trips to see Christmas lights in Chicago.  Mary and Walter enjoyed traveling.  Winter in Florida were always a welcome change from the snow in Iowa.  Mary always had a smile and enjoyed entertaining in her home.  She was a wonderful cook and fantastic baker.  She enjoyed spending Holidays with family and cookouts in the summer. 

Mary will be deeply missed by many cousins. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband on December 3, 2004 and infant sister, Virginia Maria Stump.
