Marilyn Page (Hawley) Winegard

Marilyn Winegard, 100, died Friday, May 15, 2026, at The Bungalows in Springfield, MO.   Per Marilyn's request there are no services.  She will be interred in Greenville, MI at a later date.

Marilyn was born in Victor, IA on October 21, 1925, to James Porter & Verna (Sires) Hawley.  She grew up in Illinois City, IL where her father was the foreman of the Welch Turkey Ranch. Upon her father’s death, she moved with her mother and brothers to Rock Island, IL, graduating from Rock Island High School.  

She married Wilbur Winegard on Nov 19, 1946.  They lived in the Rock Island, IL area until 1952 when the family moved to Muscatine, IA. In 1968 Wilbur received a promotion from Heinz Co, and the family moved to  Greenville, MI, eventually building a home on Lake Dickerson in Stanton.  Marilyn worked as an Executive Secretary until her retirement.

After Wilbur’s death in 2000, Marilyn continued to live in their lake home until 2016, when she moved to a Senior home in Greenville, MI.   In 2024, in order to move closer to more family, nephew Tim Hawley moved her to Springfield, MO.

Marilyn is survived by two grandchildren, twins, Ben Winegard and Bo Winegard (Courtney); nephews and nieces, Randy Hawley (Donna), Curt Hawley ( Eleanore), Nancy Hawley, Janina Hawley, Rich Hawley (Lynn), Tim Hawley (Dawn) and numerous great nephews and nieces.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents;  husband Wilbur, their three children, Cathie Lee Schroeder(Alfie), Michael Dan Winegard (Larke), Mark Anthony Winegard; brothers James Porter Hawley (Janet), Richard Hawley (Zoe); three nephews, Gregg Porter Hawley, Steven Eugene Hawley, and Christopher James Hawley.
