Marilyn Drebenstedt Obituary

Marilyn Drebenstedt, 87, of Mediapolis passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St. John’s Cemetery.  Following graveside services, a celebration of life with luncheon will be held at St. John’s Church of Flint River Township.   Memorials have been established for St. Jude’s and the Mediapolis Fire Department.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservices.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation of Mediapolis is caring for Marilyn’s arrangements and her family. 

Marilyn Thie was born on March 21, 1937 at home in Mediapolis.  The daughter of Edward and Ethel (Oge) Thie.  On February 9, 1958, Marilyn was united in marriage to Stanley Drebenstedt at St. John’s United Church of Christ.  Stanley preceded Marilyn in death on February 2, 2005.  Marilyn in her younger years worked at Sylvania, IRC and Burlington Basket Company.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and devoted farm wife.  She was a member of St. John’s Church of Flint River Township where she served on church council and Women’s Guild.  Marilyn enjoyed doing crafts, quilting, sewing and fishing. 

Marilyn will be deeply missed by her children, Pam (Brett) Dowell of Mediapolis, Cass Drebenstedt of Sperry, and Kenan (Regina) Drebenstedt of Mediapolis; grandchildren, Jennifer Ealy, Kyle (Angel) Ealy, Craig, Travis (Elsa) Drebenstedt, Mallory Drebenstedt, Madolyn (Konnor) Bridgman and Maxwell Drebenstedt and great-grandchildren, Annaka, RyeLee, Melanie, Tristin, Brenner, Paisley, Alexander, Paityn, Laylah and baby girl Bridgman. 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stanley and her brother, Donald Thie.
