Marian Meyer, 94, of Oakville, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at her home. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, January 13, 2025 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello. Graveside Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at Parsons Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial has been established for Oakville Fire and Rescue in Marian’s name. Marian Louise Malcom was born on November 29, 1930 at home in Oakville, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Cora (Munson) Malcom. Marian graduated from Oakville High School. Marian was united in marriage to Elmer Pendell and they had four children. They later divorced. At the age of 13 Marian began working at her uncle’s restaurant, she then went to work at Ross Electric in Burlington, and she did road construction. Marian lived in Tecumseh, Nebraska for 25 years, while living there she worked for Subway for 13 years. Marian enjoyed the outdoors, flower gardening, going to flea markets and reading.
Marian will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kathie (Dale) Whitaker of Oakville; grandchildren, Doug, Monica, Lance, Dane, Gesena, Nathan, Trista and Kayla; 15 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; brother, Harry Lewis (Joyce) Malcom of Keithsburg and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Mike and Edward Pendell; infant son, Harold; infant grandson; brothers, Ray and George Malcom and sister, Maxine Thornton.
