Maria R. (Hernandez) Sanchez

Maria R. Sanchez, 63, of Muscatine, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.  A private family service will be held at home with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in order to help with medical expenses.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for the arrangements.

Maria was born on October 19, 1956 in Irapuato, Mexico to Aurora Hernandez.  She was united in marriage to Luis Sanchez on March 7, 1975 at Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Mexico.  Maria loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.  She was an amazing cook and couldn’t wait to feed you when you walked in to her home.  She worked at St. Mary & Mathias Catholic School for many years.  She cared for many children in her home over the years and was loved by many. 

Maria is survived by her husband, Luis; children, Jose (Amanda), Juan (Ivette), Miguel (Kate) and Mariann; twelve grandchildren, Gabriel, Kiley, Tim, Isaiah, Stephen, Charley, Ruby, Josh, Rain, Anessa, Rosalie and Angel; her fur baby, Guero; and two brothers, Francisco and Jesus.    Others left to honor her memory are her dear friends, Kathy, Elda and Chayo.

Maria was preceded in death by her mom and four brothers.
