Margaret "Muff" Thompson Obituary

Margaret “Muff” Thompson, 90, of Grandview, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at Premier Estates in Muscatine.   Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Grandview Community Bible Church.  Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  A memorial has been established for the Grandview Bible Church in memory of Muff.     Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Margaret E. Wilson was born on January 7, 1933 in Mountain View, Missouri, the daughter of Lisle and Vera (Eggenburg) Wilson.  Margaret attended grade school in Hills Spring, Missouri and graduated from Muscatine High School in 1951.  On October 7, 1951, Margaret was married to William “Bill” Thompson at the Glad Tidings Church in Muscatine.  Muff worked for Thatcher Plastics.  She faithfully attended Grandview Community Bible Church and was a former member of the Moose.  She enjoyed dancing, fishing, playing cards, shopping and above everything spending time with her family. 

Margaret will be deeply missed by her son, Donald Thompson of Grandview; daughter, Peggy (Don) Townsend of Wapello; grandchildren, Jamie (Dan) Runnells, Stacy (Jazz) Maurer, Regina Townsend, Jason (Emily) Thompson and Linsey (Matt) Reimers; great-grandchildren, Bryar, Bailey and Brody Runnells, Chase and Caleigh Miller, Paisley and Tucker Larkins, Natalie and Taylyn Thompson, Camden and Gracelin Pytel; siblings, William Wilson of Muscatine, Beatrice “Pete” McCleary of Muscatine, Ella Brotherton of Muscatine and Mary Jane (Don) Carter of Muscatine; sisters-in-law, Marlene Wilson of Lexington, Illinois and Jennie Wilson of Muscatine and several nieces and nephews. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Thompson on September 8, 2011; siblings, John “Cy” Wilson and Vernon “Mickey” Wilson; sister-in-law, Mary Wilson and brother-in-law, James Brotherton.
