Margaret Lucille Queen, 90, of Winfield, Iowa, formerly of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Sunrise Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Winfield. Interment will be held at Fort Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, Tennessee at a later date. Memorial donations to the ASPCA would continue her love of caring for animals (aspca.org). Margaret was born on June 24, 1934 in Cleveland, Tennessee, the daughter of Henry and Margaret Pearl (Garner) Snyder. She graduated from Bradley County High School in 1952. Upon graduation she moved to Detroit, Michigan. Margaret was united in marriage to Herbert Queen on October 10, 1953 in Detroit, Michigan.
Margaret worked in a bakery and later ran a successful Amway business. She loved gardening and was especially proud of her roses and geraniums. She was a dog and cat lover and very passionate in her retirement finding homes for stray cats. One of her favorite things was having a cup of coffee and a cookie!
She will be deeply missed by her sons: Michael (Sandy) Queen of Rio Verde, Arizona and Keith (Janet) Queen of Kalona, Iowa; her grandchildren Rudy Queen, Krystal Queen-Sullivan, Sam Queen, and Rosie Queen; and great-grandchildren Jermell, Makai and Reese.
Margaret (also called Lucille by her siblings) was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herb in 2015; and her siblings Patsy Sue Guthrie, Dorthy June Snyder, Martha Jo Bennett, Boyd Snyder, Gordon Snyder and Clifford Snyder. She is survived by her sister Mary Ellen Snyder of Brownstown Township, Michigan.
