M. Joanne (Messenger) TeStrake

Joanne TeStrake, age 91, of Muscatine, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Sunrise Terrace in Winfield.  As per Joanne’s wishes, a private service for family will be held with her grandsons as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, Gary Sptiznogle and Tim Zeman carrying her to her resting place in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mildred Joanne Messenger was born December 27, 1932 in Muscatine, the daughter of Fred and Mildred Messenger.  In 1954, she was united in marriage to Kenneth TeStrake.

She loved their time together on the farm, all the animals, the many flowers and the changing seasons.

They were blessed with three children, Sherry Spitznogle (Gary) of Wapello, Julie Zeman (Tim) of Muscatine and Kevin TeStrake (Brenda) of Muscatine; 8 grandchildren, Adam, Lindsey, Matt, Conner, Kayla, Cameron, Creed and Jennifer and 8 great grandchildren, Bennett, Cale, Wyatt, Garrett, Kaden, Hudson, Teddy and Mason.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother, Allen.
