Lydia V Casarez

Lydia V. Casarez, 74, of Conesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.  Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at the Victory Christian Church in Columbus Junction.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Lone Tree Community Center.  The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Lone Tree is caring for Lydia’s family and arrangements.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Lydia was born on September 3, 1949, in Mercedes, Texas the daughter of Manuel Velasquez and Rebecca Ponce.  She was united in marriage to Constancio Casarez.  She worked for Bell’s Detasseling.  She enjoyed dancing, listening to music, driving, her morning coffee at restaurants, watching sports, especially her grandson, Pollito’s sporting events.  Most of all she dearly loved to spend time with her family.

Lydia will be deeply missed by her children, Teresa (Alberto) Landeros of Texas, Constancio (Brianna) Casarez of Lone Tree, Linda (Miguel) Casarez-Garcia of Conesville and Tyson Haskins of South Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and siblings, Jaime (Estella) Maldonado of Texas, David (Estella) Ponce of Texas, Belinda Ponce of Conesville and Saul (Sabina) Ponce, Jr. of Conesville.

Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Constancio; one granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Landeros and one brother, Bobby Ponce
