Lonna J. (Varnum) Abraham

Lonna J. Abraham, 85, of Wapello, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Great River Medical Center.  Per her request, cremation rites have been accorded.  Online condolences may be left at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello is caring for Lonna’s family and arrangements.

Lonna J. Varnum was born on October 11, 1940 to Richard and Iona (Stalkfleet) Varnum in Hollywood, CA.  Following high school, Lonna attended culinary school in Chicago, Illinois.  She loved to cook and own many small businesses throughout her life.  One of her last jobs was as a cook at the Louisa County Jail.  Lonna was very proud of her 40-year sobriety through A.A.

Though her family was small; Lonna will be deeply missed by her brother Jeffrey and his wife Karen.

Lonna was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Iona.
