Lola Ashland, 90, of Wapello, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Great River Medical Center in Burlington. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral& Cremation Services of Wapello. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, January, 8, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Wapello Fire and Rescue in memory of Lola. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. All those who attend are required to wear a mask and social distance for everyone’s safety.
Lola Florence Elliott was born September 9, 1930 in Wapello, the daughter of John and Lola (Keck) Elliott. She was a 1949 graduate of Wapello High School. Lola was united in marriage to Danny Ashland on August 27, 1953 in Spirit Lake. She worked at the Middletown Ammunition Plant for 3 years. After her marriage she raised her three children and was partners with her husband in the family business, Ashland Electric. Lola enjoyed taking care of her lawn, gardening, fishing, boating, spending time at the cabin at Lake Odessa and being with her children and grandchildren.
Lola will be missed by her three children, Larry Ashland and partner Maria of Cozumel, Mexico, Connie Murray of Tampa; and Gary Ashland and spouse Phil Windsor of Orlando, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Rob and Carie Murray of Wapello and Dana and Josh Campbell of Bellefontaine, Ohio; and six great grandchildren, Aaron, Shelbi, Bryar, Payton, Chevelle, and Jordyn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Ronald, Ralph, Kenneth and Jack Elliott and sister, Mildred Creswell.
