Lloyd H. Oberly

Lloyd H. Oberly, 81, of Mediapolis, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Southeast Iowa Hospice House in West Burlington.  There will be no visitation or funeral services.  Sympathy messages can be left for the family at www.sandfuneralservice.com.  The Snyder and Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Mediapolis is caring for Lloyd’s family and arrangements.

Lloyd H. Oberly was born on October 11, 1940, in Toolsboro, Iowa the son of John H. and Mable L. (Foster) Oberly.  On September 19, 1970, Lloyd was united in marriage to Penelope Schwob in Wapello.  He worked for Wapello Light and Gas, BL Robinson and Stumpf Electric before starting his own business in 1975, Lloyd Electric which he worked at for 40 years.  Lloyd enjoyed hunting, skiing, boating on the Mississippi on his self-built 30’ pontoon boat, vacationing with his wife and friends, from Canada to Big Bend, Texas and from Alaska to the Panama Canal and beyond and also mentored the Saturday Boys.

Lloyd will be deeply missed by his wife, Penny of Mediapolis; one brother, Donald Oberly of Fountain Valley, California and many nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Marvin, John, Dean, Lewis, Jess and Andy and one sister, Mary Honson.
