Lisa Jean (Garvin) Young

Lisa J. (Garvin) Young, 63, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Premier Estates following an extended illness.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Lisa Jean Garvin was born on February 1, 1962 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Carlton Dean and Shirley Jean (Martin) Garvin.  Lisa was a graduate of Wilton High School.  On May 28, 1981, Lisa was united in marriage to Mike Young in Muscatine, the couple later divorced.  Lisa retired from the Muscatine School System after several years working as a building aide.  She had previously enjoyed fishing, boating and camping with her family and continued to enjoy visits with friends and family  over the years. 

Lisa is survived by her mother, Shirley Jean Garvin of Muscatine; children, Cory Young of New Hampshire, Troy (Tricia Jacobsen) Young of Muscatine, T. J. (Danielle) Young of Muscatine, Monica Horchem of Muscatine and Tami (Mike) Walker of Nichols; seven grandchildren, Lindsey Stieger, Isabel Horchem, Naomi Young, Aubrey Horchem, Henry Young, John Tyler Young and Lucia Young; two great grandchildren, Noah Wheeler and Dallas Stieger and siblings, Randy (Terri) Garvin of Wilton, Dena (Guy) Dierikx of Blue Grass and Kristi (Dolan) Burreson of Decorah.

Lisa was preceded in death by her father and little brother, Gregg Garvin.
