Leon Bousselot Obituary

Leon A. Bousselot, 69, of Mediapolis, passed away Friday, January 12, 2024 at his residence. Celebration of life services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family in Leon’s memory.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Leon was born September 19, 1954 in Dewitt, Iowa, the son of Albert and Leona (Lee) Bousselot. He graduated from Calamus-Wheatland High School in 1973 and attended Scott Community College. Leon was united in marriage to Sherri Thomas on October 4, 2003 in Calamus, Iowa.

Leon worked as an over-the-road semi driver most of his life. He was a faithful and involved member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Calamus. Leon enjoyed going to the casino, playing games on his phone and spending time with his family, especially with his beloved grandchildren. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren how to play chess and spending time at home with his wife, Sherri.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Sherri Bousselot of Mediapolis; children: Charity (Jeff) Greibel of Calamus; Christian (Rachel) Bousselot of Wyoming; Camdon Bousselot of Calamus; Cory (Kim) Bousselot of Fulton, IL; step-children: Kelly (Greg) Parker of Mt. Pleasant; T.J. (Doris) Septer of Wilton; Brandon (Kristin) Septer of Mt. Pleasant; and Meggan Septer-Volner (Matt) of New London; 35 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters: Alice Hager of Marshalltown; Alta Mae Dosland of Grand Mound; and Avis (Bob) Derricks of  Grand Mound; mother and father-in law, Bob and Joette Thomas of Keosauqua; and many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
