Leobarda Saucedo Obituary

Leobarda Cabrera Saucedo, 79, of Muscatine passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2020 at The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Visitation will be on Saturday, January 2, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required.   Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Leobarda Cabrera was born on January 18, 1941 in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, the daughter of Jose and Maria (Loyola) Cabrera. On May 26, 1959, Leobarda was united in marriage to Luis R. Saucedo in Mexico, Matamoros. From the moment that her family moved to the area in 1973 she fell in love with Muscatine.

Leobarda was a member of Calvary Church of Muscatine and enjoyed reading and crocheting. She dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She spent most of her time working in her garden. Anytime she found a seed she would find a nearby pot and plant it. If the plant was able to survive our Iowa weather she would plant it in her garden. No matter what challenges came her way she uplifted and lived by Joshua 1:9: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Leobarda proclaimed to all those around her Gods powerful love, forgiveness and miracles on her life. If she saw someone in need she would go above and beyond to help.

Leobarda will be deeply missed by her husband, Luis; children, Luis Saucedo, Jr. of Muscatine, Cecilia (Eduardo) La Roche of Muscatine, Patricia (Samuel) Juarez of Muscatine, Alfredo Saucedo (Julie) of Dekalb, Illinois, Susy (Daniel) Mostrom of Springfield, Missouri, Lupita Saucedo of Muscatine, Miguel and Santos Saucedo, both of Muscatine; grandchildren Betsy, Susan and Becky Dardon; Antonio, Israel and Ester Juarez; Maria Saucedo; Daniela, Gaby, Jackie and Jordan Mostrom; Jonathan Costa; Cesar, Abby, Andres, Natalie and Emily Saucedo; Cristian and Anissa Saucedo; and seven great-grandchildren. She will also be missed by her sisters Sabina Calderon and Ventura Cabrera and many nieces and nephews.

Leobarda was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers Lupe, Zabas, Pedro y Lazaro Cabrera.
