Lee Foster Obituary

Lee A. Foster, 87, of Columbus Junction, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2024 at Lone Tree Health Center.   Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Columbus Junction.  Funeral Service will be 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery.   Memorials may be directed to the Pleasant Grove Community Church and the multi species barn at the Louisa County Fairgrounds in Lee’s name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Lee A. Foster was born on June 8, 1937 in Muscatine, Iowa, the son of Fay and Wilma (Gardner) Foster.  Lee was a 1954 graduate of Columbus Junction High School and went on to graduate from AIC in Davenport.  On May 30, 1958, Lee was united in marriage to Leila Ladehoff in Davenport.  She preceded him in death on September 10, 1996.  Lee later married Carol Sexton on September 5, 1997 at the Pleasant Grove Community Church in Columbus Junction.  Lee was a life long farmer.  He was a man of faith and supporter of his community.   He was a life long member of Pleasant Grove Community Church and past president of the Columbus Community school board. He was a life-long member of the Louisa County Farm Bureau and also served as a past president.  Lee was a large supporter of the Louisa County fair; and enjoyed restoring tractors, tractor rides and watching Caitlin Clark. 

Lee will be deeply missed by his wife, Carol; daughters, Lynn Anne Foster of Norwalk and Lea Foster of Columbus Junction; step-children, Larrette (Doug) Kolbe of Sac City, Iowa, Lyle (Stephanie) Sexton of Ainsworth, Theola (Dale) Broers of Nokomis, Illinois, and Dwight (Suzanne) Sexton of Cost, Texas; grandson, Erik (Emilee) Puricelli; great-grandchildren, Lennon and Leon; step-grandchildren, Ty (Ashley) Sexton, Keiffer Sexton, Ben Kolbe, Allison Kolbe, Travis Broers, Savay Sexton and Augustus Sexton and sister, Betty Weisskopf of Gastonia, North Carolina. 

Lee was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Leila and brother-in-law, Sam Weisskopf.
