LaVonna Arena Anson Obituary

LaVonna Kay Arena Anson, 61, of Muscatine passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, January 9, 2021.  Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Fruitland Community Center.  Private family burial will be held in Island Cemetery.   Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine is caring for LaVonna’s family and arrangements.

LaVonna Kay Titus was born on April 7, 1959 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of David LeRoy Sr. and Betty Kathleen (Starkweather) Titus.  LaVonna was married to Stephan Arena in Texas.  They later divorced.   LaVonna attended Muscatine High School and Muscatine Community College.  She worked in quality control at Heinz and West Liberty Foods and also had managed a housing unit.   LaVonna enjoyed creative story writing especially in the Fantasy genre.  She also enjoyed music, art, dancing and her dog, Tasha. LaVonna’s caring and helping others was an important part of her life and who she was.   LaVonna was a devout believer in the Creator who she referred to as “The Boss.”

LaVonna will be deeply missed by her children, Vanessa Kay Profit of Muscatine, Stephanie Ann (Gary) Friedel of Texas and Austin Edward Arena; one grandchild, Fischer and one on the way; her mother, Kathie Frisbie of Fruitland; her companion for over 20 years, David Anson of Muscatine; siblings, David Titus and Timothy Titus, both of Fruitland; Marian Willey, Lenora Young and Barbara Titus, all of Muscatine; nieces and nephews and her many many friends she has encountered.   

She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents; brother, Paul Titus; nephew, James MacKenzie and father of LaVonna’s oldest daughter Vanessa, Daniel Profit.
