Kimberly Jean “Kym” Culter, 58, of Washington, Iowa, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Halcyon House in Washington. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kym Culter Memorial Fund, 215 E. 6th Street, Washington, Iowa 52353. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com. Kimberly Jean Gerling was born on April 14, 1966, in Washington, Iowa, Kym is the daughter of Dale Howard and Vera Jean (Stalkfleet) Gerling. On April 19, 1986, Kym was united in marriage to Robert Paul Cutler at the Columbus City Methodist Church, Columbus City, Iowa. Kym worked at the University of Iowa in Housing and Dining for 27 years as a custodian. Kym enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially fishing and camping in Cutler teardrop camper. She loved all animals. Kym’s best times were doing anything and everything with her best friend and husband Bob.
Kym will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert of Washington and siblings, Kenneth (Marilyn) Gerling of Hernando, Florida; Kurt (Anita) Gerling of Lone Tree, Iowa, and Kathy Klein Gerling of Davenport, Iowa. Kym is survived by 7 nieces, Angela Gerling, Anita Anand, Tabitha Snedegar, Kerrie Klein, Corinne James, Cristine Klein and Stacy Messinger, and 2 nephews, Kevin Klein and Jordan Gerling. Kym is also survived by 7 great nieces and 8 great nephews and 2 great-great nieces and 1 great-great nephew.
Kym was preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Jean Gerling.
