Kathy J. (McLaughlin) Schnedler

Kathleen J. “Kathy” (McLaughlin) Schnedler, 80, of Letts, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Colonial Manor Care Center, Columbus Junction.  A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Letts Community Center. Kathy J. Schnedler was born on March 20, 1942 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of James and Edith (Brookhart) McLaughlin.  On September 10, 1960, Kathy was united in marriage to Gary Schnedler.  She retired from Letts Elementary School working as a cook.  Kathy enjoyed spending time with and making quilts for her family, gardening, flowers, reading her western books and visits from Opie and Jax (grand puppies).

She will be deeply missed by her three sons; Joe (Susan) Schnedler of Letts, Tom (Melissa) Schnedler of Fruitland, Jeff (Sharon) Schnedler of Muscatine; one daughter, Tammy (Dean) Holderness of Iowa City; and Lisa Schnedler; seven grandchildren, Cody, Brodie, Boone Schnedler, Tyler Carson, Jennifer Eagle, Kelly Jeambey and Madilyn Eichelberger; four great grandchildren, Brock and Brynn Jeambey, Margaret Eagle and Milo Carson and one sister Pat (Jack) Jones.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gary Schnedler; brother, James McLaughlin and son Brian Schnedler.
