Katherine “Kaye” Ruckles, 86, of Muscatine passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 at the Accura Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 2, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine; visitation will be before the service starting at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery following services. Memorials in Kaye’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or St. Jude Children’s Hospital. Following the burial there will be a luncheon at the First Baptist Church and a celebration of life at the Muscatine American Legion from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. Kaye was born on November 9, 1939 in Topeka, Kansas to William and Lila (Black) Adams. She was united in marriage to Gary Geiger in 1954, they later divorced. Kaye later married Glen Ruckles on September 7, 1975; he passed away in 2003. Kaye was a long-time hair stylist; she started her career off doing hair in her country kitchen while working full-time and later went on to own her own salon in October of 1977. Kaye retired from hairdressing in October of 1989. She loved to travel, going on numerous trips to Las Vagas, Hawaii, and the Bahamas with Glen. Kaye enjoyed gambling going to casinos and riverboats. She was an avid Hawkeye and Green Bay Packers fan. While she was at assisted living, she enjoyed playing cards with her friend Betty. She and Glen enjoyed going to the West Liberty Stock Car Races. Kaye was a member of First Christian Church and the Women’s Axillary at the Muscatine American Legion. She will be remembered for her vast collection of shoes.
Those left to honor her memory are her children Gary (Samantha) Geiger, Jr. and Nancy (Tim) Marx; grandchildren Charles Lewis, Jr., Stephanie (Jason) Birkinbine, Mercedes Marx, Amanda (Eric) Briggeman, Alison Geiger, Ashely (Tim) Wolford, and Nicole (Jimmy) Foster; great-grandchildren Chaz (Haleigh) Houseman, Dakota Birkinbine, Savannah Birkinbine, Chale Lewis, Elsie Lewis, Mia Dent, Macie Wolford, JD Foster, and GD Foster; and great-great-granddaughter Wrenlly Mae Huston.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glen; son Michael Geiger; and many siblings.
