Karen Vogel Obituary

Karen J. Vogel, 71, of Wapello, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Wapello Specialty Care. Memorial Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello. The family request all who will be attending to wear shorts and sandals, pants are optional. A memorial has been established for the family in Karen’s memory. Karen J. Vogel was born on November 10, 1950 in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Donald RutherFord and Thelma Virginia (Dodgen) Houtz. Karen graduated from high school and attended college online. She was united in marriage to Robert Kidd and they later divorced. She then married George Vogel and they later divorced. Karen did various jobs including cleaning homes, waitressing and was a press printer. She enjoyed watching spy shows on television and doing crossword puzzles.

Karen will be deeply missed by one daughter, Tonya Kidd Britt of Wapello; three sons, Bryan Kidd of Alpha, Illinois, Krys Kidd of Alpha, Illinois and Joseph Vogel of Maquoketa, Iowa; step-daughters, Mona Reed, Stacy Summers and Amy Vogel; nine grandchildren and siblings, Jerry Fiscus, Sandie Coons and Becky Kidd.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.
