Karen Sue Buffington

Karen Sue Buffington, 78, of Winfield, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the Sunrise Terrace Nsg and Rehab Center in Winfield.  Friends may visit with the family starting at 1:30 P.M. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral Home in Winfield and attend a graveside service at 2:30 P.M. at the Columbus City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorials in Karen’s name may be made to the Spring Run Church or to the Pet Fund at Sunrise Terrace.  Online condolences for the family may be left at www.sandhfuneralservices.com.

Karen was born on October 20, 1946 in Muscatine, Iowa to Kenneth and Dorothy (Peters) Buffington.  She worked for many years in food service at Hardee’s in Burlington and Hy-Vee in Mt. Pleasant before she retired.  Karen was an active member at the Spring Run Church and UMW.  In her free time; Karen enjoyed going out to eat, bowling, helping out on the family farm, raising chickens & eggs, spending time with her cats, and giving unsolicited advice.

Those left to honor her memory are her niece Rhonda (Rick) Connop; five nephews; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and several close cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Dorothy and her brothers Gary and Delbert.
