Julio Ruiz De Chaves

Julio Ruiz De Chaves, 72, of Wapello, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at his home in Wapello.  Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services in Wapello.  Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Columbus Junction.  Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for the family in Julio’s name.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservices.com.

Julio Ruiz De Chaves was born on November 7, 1952, the son of Julio Ruiz De Chaves and Florendia Rodriguez Ortiz in Guadalajara Jalisco, Mexico.  Julio served in the Mexican military.  On March 19, 1986, Julio was united in marriage to the love of his life, Manuela Lutz Perez in Nipomo, California.  Julio worked at HNI in Muscatine for several years.  He was a music collector, enjoyed cars, brandy, Diet Mt. Dew, photography and videography, but most of all, Julio loved to spend time with his family, especially the grandchildren.

Julio will be deeply missed by his wife, Manuela of Wapello; 10 children; 23 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

            Julio was preceded in death by his parents; son, Juan Luis; niece, Maria Gaudalupe and mother-in-law, Eustolia Perez.

Julio Ruiz De Chaves, de 72 años, de Wapello, falleció el domingo 23 de febrero de 2025 en su hogar en Wapello.

La visita se llevará a cabo el viernes 28 de febrero de 2025, de 4:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. en Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services en Wapello.

La misa se llevará acabo a las 11:00 a.m. el sábado 1 de marzo de 2025 en la Iglesia Católica de San José en Columbus Junction. El sepelio será en el cementerio de Columbus City.

En lugar de flores, se ha establecido un fondo conmemorativo a nombre de Julio para la

Julio Ruiz De Chaves nació el 7 de noviembre de 1952, hijo de Julio Ruiz De Chaves y Florendia Rodríguez Ortiz en Guadalajara, Jalisco, México. Julio sirvió en el ejército mexicano.

El 19 de marzo de 1986, Julio se unió en matrimonio con el amor de su vida, Manuela Lutz Pérez, en Nipomo, California. Julio trabajó durante varios años en HNI en Muscatine.

Era un coleccionista de música, le apasionaban los autos, el brandy, la Diet Mt. Dew, la fotografía y la videografía, pero sobre todo, Julio amaba pasar tiempo con su familia, especialmente con sus nietos.

Julio será profundamente extrañado por su esposa, Manuela, de Wapello; sus 10 hijos; sus 23 nietos y muchos bisnietos.

Julio fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres; su hijo, Juan Luis; su sobrina, María Guadalupe y su suegra, Eustolia Pérez.
