Julianna "Jewels" (Lake) Perez

Julianna J. "Jewels"  Perez, 53, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a hard-fought battle with ALS.  Julianna will be laid to rest beside her parents and sister in Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery in a private family graveside service.  A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the RoseBowl, Muscatine.   A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Julianna’s name. Julianna June Lake was born on April 30, 1970 in Muscatine, Iowa, the daughter of Albert Daniel and Nina June (Fuller) Lake.  Julianna graduated from Muscatine High School in the class of 1988 and then continued her education studying business at Muscatine Community College.  On October 28, 2017, Julianna was united in marriage to Jason Cory Perez in Muscatine.   She worked as a dietary aid at both Muscatine General Hospital and ResCare for many years and finished her working years at Menasha Packaging.  Julianna loved the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, collecting skulls, getting tattoos and piercings, coloring her hair, camping and enjoying the outdoors, bowling, partying with friends and more than anything spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

Julianna will be deeply missed by her husband, Jason; daughter, Hannah Stalkfleet and husband, Damon; son, Keenen Lake; grandchildren, Braxton and Emma Stalkfleet and her beloved dogs, Jemma and Jorja all of Muscatine.  Julianna is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. 

Julianna was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Renata.
