Judi (Hamilton) Delzell

Judi Delzell, 82, of Fulton, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport, Illinois  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Fulton Presbyterian Church, 311 9th Street, Fulton, Illinois.  Memorial Services for Judi will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at the church.  Following the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held in the Outreach Center at the church.  In lieu of flowers,  memorials may be made to the Eric Ottens Memorial Scholarship Fund.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Judi’s family and her arrangements.

Judith Ann Hamilton was born on July 30, 1942 in Morning Sun, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Myrtle (Baird) Hamilton.  Judi was a 1960 graduate of Morning Sun High School and went on to obtain her cosmetology license.   In her early years Judi owned and operated a beauty shop in Morning Sun.  On October 26, 1968, she was united in marriage to Paul Delzell at the Methodist Church in Morning Sun.  Paul and Judi moved to Fulton, Illinois where Judi did daycare in her home, caring for many children and their families.  She was a member of the Fulton Presbyterian Church.  She enjoyed sewing, getting together with her card club ladies and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  To many she was known as “Grandma Judi” a title she carried proudly especially with her four grandchildren who she supported dearly in all of their activities. 

Judi will be deeply missed by daughter, Stephanie (Eric) Smith of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; son, Chad (Stacey) Delzell of Camanche, Iowa; grandchildren, Spencer and Hallie Smith and Caleb and Michael Delzell and several nieces and nephews. 

Judi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul on November 23, 2023; brothers, Lonnie and Jack Hamilton and sisters, Cora Stotlar, Janet Hall and Patsy Huddle.
