Juanita Attig Obituary

Juanita Pearl Attig, 92, of Iowa City, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at her home in Iowa City.  Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Lone Tree Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in memory of Pearl.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree is caring for Pearl’s family and arrangements.

Juanita Pearl Arthur was born on July 9, 1931, in Cotter, Iowa the daughter of Tudor and Mildred Fern (Willey) Arthur.  On April 20, 1973, Pearl was united in marriage to Donald Charles Attig in West Liberty.  She worked for Owen Brush in Iowa City for many years.  Pearl was a previous member of the Methodist Church and the Homemaker’s Club in Lone Tree.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, fishing, going on vacation and visiting the Riverside Casino.

Pearl will be deeply missed by her daughter Gail (Butch) Seydel of Iowa City; step-children, Kathy (Don) Schmutz, Debbie Jo Johnston, Linda Kay (Wesley) Sotzen and Gary Attig; 3 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and several step great-great grandchildren.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; two sons, Arthur Call and Tommy Call and two sisters, Francine Elliott and Shirley Robbins.
