Joy (Sissel) Schrock

Joy Schrock, 59, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at her home.   Celebration of Life Service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. and continue until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at the funeral home.   Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at East Union Mennonite Church, 5615 Gable Avenue SW, Kalona, Iowa 52247.  Burial will be in East Union Cemetery.    In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for Spring Valley Bible Camp in Muscatine.   Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.   

Joy Lynn Sissel was born on June 25, 1965 in Muscatine, the daughter of Arthur and Virginia (Wilson) Sissel.  Joy was a graduate of Muscatine High School and attended University of Northern Iowa where she received her business degree.  On August 31, 1991, Joy was united in marriage to Gary Schrock at Calvary Baptist Church in Muscatine.  Joy worked as a teacher and librarian’s aide for the Muscatine Community School District.  She attended Calvary Church.  Joy enjoyed scrapbooking, taking photos, playing the piano and reading.  

Joy will be deeply missed by her sons, Davis (and his wife, Betsy) Schrock and Caleb Schrock; grandchildren, River and Arthur; her mother, Virginia Sissel of Muscatine and siblings, David (Mary) Sissel of Muscatine and Kathy (Gary) Grant of Milton, Washington.  

Joy was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Gary on July 4, 2020 and niece, Bethany Sissel.
