Joseph C Murphy

Joseph “Joe” Murphy, 72, of Muscatine passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at home surrounded by his family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025 at 11:00am at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Inurnment will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery on Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 2:00pm.  Memorials in Joe’s name may be made to Life Bridge Church of Davenport, Iowa. Joe was born on March 9, 1953 in Iowa City, Iowa to Bernard and Irene (Huff) Murphy.  He was a 1972 graduate of Iowa City W.H.S.  Joe married the love of his life, Brenda Boles, on August 27, 1974 in Iowa City.  He worked at Heinz Co. for 37 years before he retired.  Even after retirement, Joe couldn’t stop working, so he worked part time at Culver’s.  He was a member of Life Bridge Church in Davenport for many years.  He never missed a Green Bay Packers or Iowa Hawkeyes’ game.  Most of all, Joe loved to be with his family.

Joe will be deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Brenda; three sons Jason (Heather), Jeffrey (Becky), and Justin; five beloved grandchildren Autumn, Natalie, David, Ethan, and Sadie; siblings Steve Murphy, Karen (Joe) Remmers, George (Kathy) Murphy, Helen Murphy, Dennis (Marlys) Murphy, Sarah (Steve) Fowler, and Edward (Deborah) Murphy; sister-in-law Lori (Paul) Dvorak; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Irene; brother Kenneth Murphy; and sister Joyce Murphy.
