Joseph J. Galloway, 46, of Hills, passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at his home in Hills. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Lone Tree. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Athletic Boosters or the Columbus Junction Lion’s Club in memory of Joseph. Joseph James Galloway was born exactly 100 years after Albert Einstein on March 14, 1979, in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Stephen Joseph and Beverly (Myers) Galloway. He was a 1997 graduate of Lone Tree High School and then received his RN Degree from Kirkwood Community College. Joseph was a nurse at the University of Iowa Digestive Health Center. He enjoyed working on the farm and playing cards at the Riverside V.F.W.
Joseph will be deeply missed by his mother, Beverly Mrstik of Tiffin; siblings, Taiya (Jeremy) Hotz of Iowa City, Cassie (Bill) Hingst of Columbus Junction, Jessie (Jenny) Galloway of Palo, Cecil Mrstik of Tucson, Arizona, Bethelyn Mrstik of Phoenix, Arizona and Addam Hillard of Columbus Junction. Nieces and nephews, Wesley Hotz, Will Hotz, Aggatha Hingst, Henry Hingst, Kianna Galloway, Sophia Galloway, Nolan Galloway and Tessa Galloway and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Joseph was preceded in death by his father Stephen on January 23, 2022 and paternal and maternal grandparents.
Joseph’s family would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses whom Joseph worked with and the medical staff that cared for him over the years.
