Johannes "Hans" M. Slot

Johannes “Hans” M. Slot, 91, of Muscatine, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at his home.  No visitation or services are planned for this time.  A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home in Hans’ name. Johannes Marie Slot was born on August 15, 1931 in Apeldoorn, Netherlands, the son of Gradus Lambertus and Maria Josephina Anthonetta (van Oppen) Slot.  Hans proudly served in the Netherlands Navy.  Hans obtained his Masters in Engineering and was employed as an engineer for Stanley Consultants  for 30 plus years.  On May 6, 1958, he was united in marriage to Maria “Ietje” F. Schröder in Bilthoven, Netherlands.  He enjoyed tennis, swimming, traveling the world, playing bridge and spending time with family. 

Hans will be deeply missed by his children Louella (Josef) Slot-Bruers of Netherlands; Laurette (Gerald) Slot-Whisler of Muscatine and Ron Slot of Muscatine; grandchildren Elke (Floriaan), Han, Bram, Dustin (Jessica), Donovon and Sheldon; great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Owen, Isabel and Stella, and sister, Ineke Julien of Netherlands. 

Hans was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother and two sisters.
