Jeffrey "Jeff" R. Elder

Jeffrey “Jeff” Elder, 67, of Muscatine, Iowa passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at home surrounded by his beloved family. Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Muscatine is assisting the family. Memorials in Jeff’s name may be made to The American Cancer Society. Jeffrey R. Elder was born on July 7, 1958 in Iowa City, Iowa to Walter Jr and Vera (Knoll) Elder.  He graduated from Muscatine High School in 1975.  Jeff married the love of his life, Diane Mason, on March 24, 1980.  He worked at GPC, later Kent, until his retirement in 2008.  Jeff was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan, even getting to see the Bears make it to the Super Bowl. He loved everything to do with music, listening to it and collecting vinals to his favorite artists.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, and hearing the winning “cha-ching” at the casino.  Most of all, Jeff loved to spend time with his beloved grandchildren.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife of 45 years, Diane; daughter Sarena (Noel Gonzalez) Elder; son Chad (Stacy Lambert) Elder; fur baby Miss; five beloved grandchildren Brady, Braiden, Ava, Mateo, and Khloe; his mother Vera; siblings Fae, Joe, Tina, and Lee (Lisa) and many nieces and nephews.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Walter Elder, Jr.
