Jeffrey was born on December 14, 1954, in Burlington, IA, the son of Bill and Marilyn Vierling. He graduated from Mediapolis High School in 1973, attended one year at SCC, attended one year at Iowa State University and then started farming with his dad. On July 12th, 1975, he married Debra Dunegan at First United Church of Christ. They were married for 50 wonderful years.
His main joy in life was spending time with his family and attending church. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, ice fishing, hunting, deer runs, breakfast at Apron Strings with his friends, mowing on a diagonal line, excursions to Farmington, card tricks and juggling. One of our fondest memories is him singing his version of I’m the Easter Rabbit HOO-WAY to wake his children on Easter morning.
Jeffrey was part of the Iowa River Rod and Gun Club. His occupation started with farming, raising hogs, and cattle. He then worked in the mines at USG, then worked at Hawkeye. He later worked for New York Life and then worked again for USG and Hawkeye before he retired in 2021 where he started to enjoy watching game shows and napping.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Debra; children, Christopher (CW), Andrea (Oodle), Elizabeth (Peanut), Benjamin (Butch the BBQ Beef Cake) and Emily (Beebles); grandchildren Bailey, Mia, Elise, Dexter, Augustus, Phoebe, Violet, Greta and Walter; cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
We know he is in Heaven with his loved ones, which is a great relief to us all.
