Jeffrey Lane Thomas

Jeffrey Lane Thomas, 53, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on April 12, 2021. Jeff was born in Muscatine, Iowa on October 7, 1967 to Marvin and Margaret (Carman) Thomas. He graduated from Louisa Muscatine High school. Jeff’s college days took him to Western Illinois University where he graduated with a degree in Law Enforcement. He later obtained a degree in Fire Safety from Oklahoma State University and enjoyed returning frequently to Stillwater with family to attend activities. Jeff found employment as a safety engineer with several companies and was able to travel the country helping others to provide increased safety for workers and consumers.

Jeff’s deep love for his family exceeded all else. He was proud of his two children and would speak often of their activities and accomplishments. Jeff cherished the time that he was able to spend with them. Jeff valued his friends and often involved them in his many hobbies and activities. He enjoyed RC cars and planes, high powered rockets, kites, woodworking, cooking, gardening, and hunting for Morel mushrooms. He was also an avid lover of rock music from the 80’s and always looked forward to attending the next KISS concert. Everyone who knew Jeff would recognize his infectious smile, quick wit and his passion for fireworks and his bulldogs.

Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, father Marvin, and infant sister Norma Lee. Left to celebrate his memory is his daughter Addie Thomas and son Zane Thomas, his mother Margaret Thomas of Letts, sister Anita (Mike) Stineman of Letts and brothers Bruce (Sue) Thomas of Algona, Iowa and Melvin (Rita) Thomas of Warsaw, Illinois, many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends who shared his path.

A private family service will be held at a later date. A memorial fund will be established in Jeff’s memory with Oklahoma State University Fire Protection & Safety program and NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) in order to make our communities a better place.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.  Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services is caring for Jeff’s arrangements and his family.
