Jeannette "Jan" (Kannada) Lamp

Jeannette “Jan” Lamp, 88, of Muscatine, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services, Muscatine.  Interment will be in Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until service time.   Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice in Jan’s name.  Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Anna Jeannette “Jan” Kannada  was born on June 29, 1933 in Marvell, Arkansas, the daughter of Holbert L. and Willie Mae (Dollar) Kannada.  She graduated from high school in Holly Grove, Arkansas.  On July 28, 1956, Jan was united in marriage to Leland “Mike” Lamp in Wilton.  Jan was co-owner of Leland Lamp Machine Shop with her husband and often volunteered at Premier Estates.    She was a former member of the Moose Lodge and enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, coloring and spending time with her family. 

Jan will be deeply missed by her daughters, Karron (Dennis) Stineman of Grandview, Anita (Robert) Gilchrist of Grandview, Lori (Kevin Still) Lamp of Columbus City and Lisa (Kevin) Wilson of New Boston; grandchildren, Janean (Rich) Barry, Beau Hartsock, Myka Gilchrist and Averi (Antonio)Wilson-Raya; great grandchildren, Brandon Stineman, Abby Hargrave and Kaydence Hargrave and one brother, Bill Kannada of Stuttgart, Arkansas.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; husband on September 15, 2000; one daughter in infancy; grandson, Eric Stineman; siblings, Horace Kannada, Loyce Roswell, Shirley Coleman, Mabel Ferreria and Patsy Munson and one brother in infancy.
