Jean J. Dusenberry, 87, of Muscatine passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at her home. Jean was able to give the Gift of Life through donation following her passing. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello. Following the services, burial will take place in Wapello Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Humane Society in Jean’s name. Jean Joan Skipton was born on November 24, 1938 in Wapello, the daughter of Frank and Pearl (Chrissinger) Skipton. She was a graduate of Wapello High School. Jean had been employed for six years at Thatcher Plastics, thirteen years at HON Oak Plant and eight years at Bethesda Nursing Home. Jean was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild. She enjoyed camping at the Iowa State Fair-which she had done for over 40 years; country music and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan. She loved spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Gunner.
Jean is survived by her sister-in-law. Kay Skipton; brother-in-law, Harry Etter; step- grandson Wade Mills; good friend, Bill Petersen and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Robert Skipton, Edith Lucas, Hazel Barrick, Shirley Etter, Ivy “Sis” Charbonneau, Lewis Skipton and Leonard Skipton
