Janice M Brockett, 87, of Muscatine, passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Pinnacle Memory Care in Muscatine. Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Letts Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Christian School in memory of Janice. Janice Marie Anthony was born on February 12, 1938, in Grandview, Iowa the daughter of Carl Everett and Celia Ruth (Phillips) Anthony. She was a graduate of Grandview High School. On September 15, 1957, Janice was united in marriage to Delbert Wayne Long and later divorced. On July 6, 1963, she was united in marriage to Richard William Brockett in Aledo, Illinois. Janice was a custodian at the L&M High School. She grew up in the Grandview Bible Church and was a member of the Walnut Park Baptist Church. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed reading and making baby quilts for the hospital.
Janice will be deeply missed by her children, Peggy Marie (Jerry) Waack of Moscow, Sherill Ann Gappa of Rogersville, Missouri, Jeffrey Wayne Long of Muscatine and Richard William (Sue) Brockett of Safe Harbor, Florida, granddaughter, Molly Marie (Matt) Gleason of Long Grove, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and siblings, Wanda Gael of Cedar Rapids and Lyndal Anthony of Dubuque.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; son-in-law, Greg Gappa; sister, Arlene Albers and brother, Keith Anthony.
