Janet Marie Slater

Janet Slater, 69, of Burlington, passed away on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Burlington.  Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Wapello, 209 Franklin Street, Wapello, IA 52653.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026 at 1100 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery.  Memorials may be left to the Gugeler Group Home in memory of Janet.  Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.sandhfuneralservice.com. 

Janet Marie Slater was born on September 26, 1956 in Muscatine, the daughter of William and Agnes (Bekker) Slater.  Janet worked various jobs over the years and was a resident of the Gugeler Group Home.  She enjoyed latch hook rugs, puzzles, word searches, coloring books, looking at catalogs and listening to music.  Janet loved her collection of Hello Kitty dolls, blankets and other items.   

Janet will be deeply missed by her brother, Robert Slater of Wapello; sister, Delores (Jim) Lid of Saint George, UT; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers, Donald, Maurice and Eugene.
