Janet Dorothy (Hermann) Kindler

Janet Dorothy Kindler, 83, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024, at her home in Muscatine.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Muscatine.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at the New Era Lutheran Church in Muscatine.  Following the services, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the church.  Committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Muscatine Art Center or New Era Lutheran Church in memory of Janet.  Online condolences can by left for the family at www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Janet Dorothy Hermann was born on September 1, 1940, in Muscatine, Iowa the daughter of Glenn and Dorothy Estella (Daufeldt) Hermann.  She was a graduate of Moline Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing.  On November 11, 1961, Janet was united in marriage to Thomas Jan Kindler in Muscatine.  She was a nurse in Labor and Delivery at Muscatine General Hospital her entire career.  Janet was a lifelong member of the New Era Lutheran Church where she served on the Care and Concern Committee.  She was also a member of the Muscatine Melon Patchers Quilting Club and volunteered at the Muscatine Art Center.  Janet enjoyed quilting and gardening and was a lifelong caregiver.

Janet will be deeply missed by her husband, Thomas of Muscatine; her son, David (M.J.) Kindler of Oak Park, Illinois; son-in-law, Rob Murphy of St. Charles, Missouri; grandchildren, Leah Kindler of Chicago, Illinois, Evan Kindler of Cambridge, Massachusetts and Alexander Murphy of Nashville, Tennessee; siblings, Delores (Donald) Rehms of San Clemente, California, Charles (Ann) Hermann of Muscatine and Donald Hermann of Tipton and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Deborah Murphy.
